The Olympic Arms & Grayson Apartments have 43 units between the 2 buildings. Built in 1925, the 4-story brick buildings originally served as long-stay hotels. All apartments are one bedrooms and studios and are about 500 square feet depending on their location within the buildings.
All apartments have gas heat, gas stoves, baseboard and crown molding and 10 foot high ceilings. Depending on the apartment, amenities include: hardwood floors, breakfast nook with built-in table and benches, walk-in closet, views (downtown Seattle, Puget Sound), handset octagonal-tile floors in the bathroom, ice-boxes, porcelain sinks, and built-in armoires in the bedroom.
The Olympic Arms and Grayson Apartments are located on lower Queen Anne within a few minutes walk of the Queen Anne retail core. There, one will find several grocery stores, a post office, banks, a multitude of restaurants, bars and cafes, bookstores, a cinema and a variety of other businesses. The Seattle Center, The Museum of Pop Culture and a host of cultural and athletic events, is a 10 minute walk away. A few minutes walk in the other direction brings one to Kinear Park, a vast green expanse covering several blocks and offering recreational facilities and plenty of space to stroll beneath tall evergreen trees. Down the hill on the water is Myrtle Edwards Park which has an excellent view over Puget Sound to the Olympics and offers large open spaces for walking, running, cycling and other outdoor activities.
Queen Anne is quite central to Seattle and convenient to other areas of town. Downtown Seattle is a 5-minute drive (15 minutes by bus). Fremont, Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Wallingford and Capitol Hill are all minutes away by car or bus. There is easy access to I-5 and Aurora (Highway 99). Buses are frequent and close to the building. Queen Anne also has convenient access to bicycle routes going in most directions.
